In your Compology Web App, on your smartphone or desktop browser, navigate to Maintenance > Camera Management from the side menu. Here you will find all the containers and cameras associated with your organization including containers and cameras you have installed, containers that no longer have a camera installed, and cameras that are not installed but are in your inventory:

*This page is only accessible by administrator users due to the impact changes to containers on this page can have to the functionality of the rest of the application.

Installation in a New Container

When doing an installation, it is recommended to be onsite with the container and the camera, to be installed, in hand.

Search the camera id by clicking on the filter icon on the left of the container search bar. If you do not see an ID drop down from the filter search, double check the ID on the camera:

Click “Install” on the matching camera. If you are on a smartphone, close out the filter to see the camera ID:

Fill out the container details and click “Save” at the bottom:

You will be prompted to activate the camera with Shake & Wake. Follow the on screen instructions for proper activation. Below is an instructional video on how to activate the camera:

IMPORTANT: Do not shake the camera prior to this step. If you do, the camera will not post on the correct schedule and the camera will remain in deep hibernation where it only posts an image once a week until it is "shaken" during the install process.

Once the camera finishes the LED indication and an image appears, click “Camera is Activated”:

On the next screen, you will be prompted to confirm the container details and perform the physical installation. You can learn more about physical installation steps here:

IMPORTANT: You have 1 HOUR after performing the shake & wake to physically install the camera to ensure proper activation. If you are not able to physically install in this time frame, shake the unit again when you are on site and before you physically install the unit.

Once the physical installation is complete, click “Installation Complete” and "Save". The container will now be visible on the Containers page.

Note: Newly assigned cameras can take up to 24 hours to calibrate and start providing data.

Removing or Swapping a Camera from a Container

If you need to remove a camera from a container, or change the camera that is installed, search the container name under the Maintenance > Camera Management tab. Click on the container to pull up the container details, including the camera that is currently installed. When you have physically removed the camera from the container, click “Unassign” next to the camera ID. You will be asked to confirm; click "Yes, Unassign" then "Save" to complete the removal:

If you are doing a swap, you can quickly see a list of the available cameras. Select the one that you are physically installing on the container:

Cameras not assigned to a container and containers without a camera will not show on your Container page, but will be visible in this maintenance section as will as in the Activity page for historical reference.

Assign Camera to an Existing Container

If a container was previously created, but no longer has a camera, you can search for it by container name in the Maintenance > Cameras section or filter for “Containers without a camera”, and install a camera that is not currently installed on a container:

You will be prompted to shake the newly assigned camera. Follow the onscreen instructions. Once the camera provides a green LED and verifies an image, click on the now blue “Camera is Activated”.

After physically installing the camera, click” Installation Complete” and “Save” to finish the swap.
