Note: Need a Bulk Upload? In situations where you are entering a large number of customers at one time, Compology can simplify the process for you with a bulk upload. Please contact Customer Support for assistance.
Adding a Customer
Step 1: Click the Customers tab on the navigation bar.
Step 2: Click Add New and select Customer.
Step 3: Fill in Customer Information and click Save.
Note: For continuity, we recommend using the same Customer ID # you use in your other software and accounting systems.
Note: Customers & Service Locations - Parent-Child Relationship
Within Compology, Customers and Service Locations work within a parent-child hierarchy. This means that a Service Location (child) MUST ALWAYS be associated with a Customer (parent), however a Customer can exist without an associated Service Location and can also have multiple service locations.
In this example, “Acme Construction” is the Customer while “Farmington Jobsite” and “Lakeshore Dr Jobsite” are Service Locations. Acme Construction could exist without the two Service Locations, however, neither of the Service Locations can exist without Acme Construction.
Adding a Service Location
Step 4: From the customer page click the Add Icon to add a Service Location.
Step 5: Enter the address of the Service Location and click Locate on Map.
Step 6: Add the contact information for the service location and click Save.
Step 7: If needed, adjust the size of the service area (blue geofence) by expanding or contracting using the white arrows. You may also adjust the location of the geofence by dragging the map. Then, click Save.
Adding Additional Service Locations
To add additional service locations repeat steps 4-7 above.
Special Notes
Compology leverages a location matching algorithm to match each camera post to a location.
If a container is posting from an unknown location and a service location geofence is placed over that container, the previous posts will be matched to the newly created location.
If a service location geofence is moved a significant distance, all posts that were previously matched to that location may be updated to show as location unknown or to another nearby location. It is important not to reuse the same location for two distinct areas.
